If you were to ask me what my definition of marketing is, I would tell you it is delivering the right message, at the right time, to the right people, in the right place.
I am often asked to test ride new Email Marketing Tools, but seldom do they seem unique enough from the standard offerings already available for me to take the time to really delve in. But, there was just something about SendPulse that peaked my curiosity. It appears to be a tool that supports my definition of Marketing in every way, and not only does it do that using Artificial Intelligence to send emails, but SMS and push notifications too.

Delivering the Right Message
SendPulse has an A/B Testing feature that makes it easy to see what message is resonating best with your audience. It walks you through creating two different emails, allows you to choose what you want to measure (Opens or Clickthroughs), and analyzes which email is performing better. Then after a set time period of testing, it will only send the winning email out after that.

One of the things that I love about SendPulse is that it gives you so many options, the email and phone sign up forms are no exception. You can start by choosing a selection of form templates and customize from there or make use of the signup form builder. You also can select whether to display your subscription form as embedded, a pop-up, or floating. This allows you to personalize your request for emails from your audience in a way that fits within your brand and what you may be offering in exchange for the email, and is inviting to your unique audience.
At the Right Time
Here is where the Artificial Intelligence can be seen weaving its magic. SendPulse will analyze when each recipient opens emails sent by you and determine what time that individual will most likely be reading messages in their inbox, thereby delivering your emails at just the right time to be at the top of the pack.
With each email you send, you can automate a resend with a different headline to those contacts that did not open the email. Manually resending unopened emails alone has proven to increase open rate using any email marketing system, SendPulse sees an increase in open rates by as much as 50% from this practice. Not only that, but it also helps the SendPulse AI learn about your contact's behavior.
"Treating entire email lists as one user will never have the same engagement potential as providing personalized experience to each user based on their personal preferences."
SendPulse
To the Right People
Hopefully, you have done the work to put yourself in the shoes of your target customer, and your website, social media presence and sign-up forms are communicating what they want to hear from you. If you have, you should have a contact list full of pre-qualified prospects.
If you haven't - call me. We need to set up some Marketing Coaching.
SendPulse's Analytics monitors who is opening what from where, and why emails are not being opened. This allows you to filter out uninterested parties, but also to determine if there is a better way they want to receive or will respond to information. Perhaps by text? ...or push notifications?
In the Right Place
Track what and where your messages are being opened with SendPulse's complete analytics, allowing you to make sure your emails are optimized for your most impressed audience.

So How Does It Stack Up?
SendPulse has been available since 2015; it's fairly new as compared to the big guns like Constant Contact and MailChimp who boast not only the industry's highest delivery rates, but open rates. Part of that is because they have been around a while and email program spam filters will generally accept an email coming from their servers. But anyone's statistics will fall off if they aren't following good practices or sending optimized emails. SendPulse's delivery rate is comparable.
MailChimp is very good at walking a user through creating an effective email with elements that will get it opened. Constant Contact has strict guidelines to make sure your email appears it is being sent professionally. And SendPulse gives you all the tools to make sure your messages are seen, by the individual. It is more than a numbers game, but it only works if you use the tool consistently for the AI to gather the data.
I like SendPulse's drag and drop editor for it's over 100 mobile optimized templates, I find it easier to use than Constant Contact and MailChimp. This in my mind makes it a contender, not to mention the pricing is more affordable. Remember those options I mentioned before? You can choose to pay a monthly subscription or pay-as-you-go by emails sent out.

If you are committed to consistent email and/or SMS marketing, and you should be, then I would predict you may get better results in time with SendPulse over the big box services. But this will only work if you stick with it, and take the time to see what the analytics can tell you, and let the AI work for you. If you don't have time for strategy and want to play the numbers game, then a shot in the dark is better served with a more established email marketing company. But, I'll warn you, if you aren't delivering the right message, at the right time, to the right people, in the right place... more opened emails in one go 'round, won't do you any good.
I liked SendPulse so much, I became an affiliate and included my affiliate links in this blog post.
